Task one
Select one of the artists to the left and research and identify the main features of their work
You should end up with a page of detailed notes. Task two
Select a local personality or staff member (get permission) Think about how you might create a caricature of them. Also consider the impart it may have on them.
Gather a range of images from the subject. This could include photos or drawings made from life. List the key recognisable features of the subject. This may include:
Task three
Based on your study of an artists make a series of drawings that accentuate these recognisable features. These should take up about two A3 pages.
Create a final design that includes all the essential elements of the subject. Annotate this drawing with notes summerising why you have chosen particular features and how they relate to the subject. Task four
Draw design onto MDF provided (lifesize!) Cut out the overall shape with a jigsaw.
Seal wood with a primer. Then paint design over top. Paint the back black (or any colour you wish) Once image is finished, cover it with a varnish. Once all of the paintings are finished we will display them in an exhibition space. |
